Disciple of Konrad Kōsan Maquestieau, in the lineage of Roland Yuno Rech, Taisen Deshimaru Rōshi, Kōdō Sawaki Rōshi, and also the one of Rempō Niwa Zenji, Florent Monderer - Futei in bouddhism - practices and teaches in the region of Wavre and its surroundings (Walloon Brabant, Belgium).

With the discovery of zazen at Kannon Dojo in Brussels, he goes from retreat to retreat under the guidance of master Roland Yuno Rech in order to further understand this way opening to him.

In 2016, he took his bag and travelled (by foot) to the zen buddhist monastery Kanshoji in Dordogne (France) in order to spring totally in the zen practice and to give all his time. A true discovery of the zen temple life in the community founded by Taiun Jean-Pierre Faure, Futei did then there the ceremony of Jukai (taking refuge and receive the precepts) in 2017.

In 2018, he goes back to Belgium in order to share his learnings in his homeland. He invests his energy particularly in the zen center Jigendō in Walloon Brabant, with his friend and monk Jean-François Vercauteren.

At the same time, he meets Konrad Kōsan Maquestieau, zen master and responsible of Shododojo in Halle, from whom he will officially become the disciple during the Tokudō (“the entry in the way”) ceremony in 2021.

Then, in 2022, he founded the zengroup of Chaumont-Gistoux, whom he is the current responsible.

And it is in 2024 that he participates to his first Ango (intensive retreat of 3 months) at Tōshōji, zen temple in the Okayama prefecture in Japan, under the guidance of the venerable Seido Suzuki Rōshi.

Today, Futei provides a rigorous and friendly frame of practice where everybody can grow and develop itself in the way of sōtō zen.

His teaching spans from the transmission of traditional forms, focusing on the posture of zazen, to the innovative answers of the spiritual way to the current social matters.
